JSON Viewer
Paste JSON or open a .json file to check it for errors, tidy it up and explore it as a graph, a tree or a table. Everything runs in your browser, so your data never leaves your device.
How to use JSON Viewer
- 1Add your JSON
Paste it into the editor, type it, or open a .json file from your computer.
- 2Fix and format
Errors are marked with the line, column and a plain explanation. Click Format to indent it neatly, or Minify to shrink it.
- 3Explore it
See it as a graph of connected cards, open and close branches in the tree, switch lists to a table, search, and copy any item's path.
Common questions
Is my JSON uploaded anywhere?
No. Checking, formatting and the tree view all happen inside your browser. Nothing you paste or open is sent to a server.
Why is my JSON invalid?
The most common causes are a missing or extra comma, single quotes instead of double quotes, keys without quotes, and comments. The error message shows the exact line and column and what to change.
Does formatting change my numbers?
No. Format and Minify only change spaces and line breaks. Values like 1.10 or very long numbers stay exactly as you wrote them.
What is the Graph view?
It draws each group of your JSON as a card and connects them with lines, like a map. Drag to move around, use + and − or Ctrl and the mouse wheel to zoom, and click a row with › to open more.
What is the path shown under the viewer?
It's the address of the item you clicked, like $.books[0].title. You can copy it to use in code or in tools that support JSONPath.
