What's the difference between rotating and flipping?
Rotating turns the image like a steering wheel. Flipping mirrors it, so left becomes right (horizontal) or top becomes bottom (vertical).
Why does my photo look sideways in some apps?
Phones often save photos sideways with a note saying which way is up, and some apps ignore that note. Saving it here writes the pixels the right way up, so it looks right everywhere.
