Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Rotating happens inside your browser. Your video is never sent to a server.
Does rotating lower the quality?
No. By default only the video's orientation setting changes, so the picture is untouched and it's almost instant. Redrawing every frame is only needed for the rare player that ignores that setting.
Why is my phone video sideways?
Phones record in one direction and save which way up the video should be shown. Some apps ignore that, so the video looks sideways. Rotate it here once and it plays the right way everywhere.
