Common questions
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The volume is changed inside your browser. Your file stays on your device and is never sent to a server.
Will boosting the volume make it distort?
Not with Prevent distortion on (the default). Loud peaks are turned down smoothly instead of being cut off, so you can boost quiet recordings safely.
What does Normalize do?
It finds the loudest moment in the file and raises (or lowers) everything evenly so that moment sits just below the maximum level.
