How to use Cut Audio

Click the button or drag an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC file onto the page. Videos work too: their sound is used.

Drag the handles on the waveform or type exact start and end times. Press Play selection to hear it.

Add a fade if you like, pick MP3, WAV, M4A or OGG, and click Cut audio.
Common questions
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened and cut inside your browser. It stays on your device and is never sent to a server.
How do I make a ringtone?
Pick a 20 to 30 second part, turn on Fade in and Fade out, and save as M4A for iPhone (rename it to .m4r) or MP3 for Android.
How long can the file be?
Up to 45 minutes. The whole file is loaded into memory to draw the waveform, so longer recordings should be split first.
Is Cut Audio free?
